Ghost/Voodoo Tours recommendation

Just finished reading old threads about ghost tours. This is my 2nd time in NO. My boyfriend thinks ghost tours are hokey, so I will probably be soloing. I might be able to talk him into joining if we did a private tour. I definitely do not want the cattle-car experience.

Who should we select that is fun? What kind of prices should we expect?

Ghost/Voodoo Tours recommendation

I like Bloody Mary%26#39;s tours. She does a really good job. As for prices, expect around $25 per person. http://www.bloodymarystours.com/

Haunted History Tours are also good. Bill is a great guide, and the prices are a couple dollars cheaper, and they give student discounts.

I was already on her website, but no prices are ever mentioned. She has her auto reply email on since two weeks saying her elderly mother is in a bad way. Am not sure she will be an option.

Also, again, we definitely do not want a group tour of 25 people. Has anyone done private tours and can say the prices to expect?

Student discounts??? I%26#39;m 50! And my boyfriend is an old retired Army pilot! Think we are long past the days of getting student discounts.......

The prices are listed on her web site, under each specific type of tour, so if she%26#39;s available, I would estimate based on the per person rate +/- a few dollars to calculate private tour prices.

Also, contact Haunted History tours - you might be able to get around $15-18 per person for the tour.

My choice would be Mary, but given her mother%26#39;s illness, I would like to have the second option. Have seen Haunted History Tours departing and was totally turned off by the group of 30+. Do you know if they do smaller tours or private tours upon request? Mind you, I%26#39;d rather pay and have a fun evening than go on the cheap and feel disappointed.

Yes, they offer group tours. http://www.hauntedhistorytours.com/group.htm

I went on a regular HHT ghost tour two weeks back with a friend, and they divided the large group into about 15-person groups with one guide, so it was a lot more intimate and enjoyable!

My husband and I took the Haunted History tour about a year ago and I too was sceptical on how the experience would play out. It was very good and extremely interesting, we had about 15 people in the group and it did not feel like a cattle car. It was not showy or theatrical, but fun and informative. We even stopped at a bar for drink/bathroom break along the way. You should urge your boyfriend to go along, he might enjoy it.

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks Sherri!

I am still waiting to hear back from Mary (Bloody Mary Tours) as she is my first choice. I am good if there are 15 people. Glad to hear first hand that you enjoyed the tour.

If you end up with Haunted History..go to the Louisiana Tourism office at Jackson Square and check out the booklets as usually there is a coupon for a few dollars off some of the tours including haunted history in the center map.But I would hold out to go with Mary Millan (bloody mary).

I found the coupon via their website (Haunted History Tours). But, I am still waiting to hear from Mary. I don%26#39;t give up easily!
