I%26#39;m planning my next trip to New Orleans for July. I%26#39;ve checked out many different flight options from Buffalo...the one that looks the best right now is with airtran for about $220 pp...but the connection times are very long..uuughhh, there is a great Delta flight option, but it is almost $300 pp...I really don%26#39;t want to pay that. I%26#39;m undecided, should I just book the airtran flight or wait and see if the Delta will go down in the near future?? I really hate making these decisions, cause I%26#39;m afraid if I lose out on the Airtran deal, then we%26#39;ll be paying more in the end....any suggestions????? Love to hear %26#39;em!!! :) oh yeah, these prices are in Canadian $$$, so it%26#39;s a little less in US $$.
should I book the flight???
What are the fares on other airlines? How about Southwest from Buffalo?
should I book the flight???
all other fares are more or around the same, with terrible flight options. These are the best options for now.
Not sure. July is not high tourist time in NO so the price might go down slightly. On the other hand that%26#39;s not a terrible rate, and you might lose out if you don%26#39;t grab it. I doubt that your flight options will improve any. They probably won%26#39;t be adding more flights. I guess it depends on your priorities. If you can risk losing the flight, you do have time to wait a little longer.
i believe southwest and jet blue are the only two airlines which will give you a credit for the difference if your fare goes down, so that%26#39;a a plus right there!

well, I took the plunge, and I booked it!!! We decided to go with the Airtran flight...just in case the prices went up (the sale ends today) I%26#39;m soooo excited!! July 9-13 (4 nights) and we%26#39;ll be staying in a balcony, courtyard room at the Inn on Bourbon...can%26#39;t wait!!!! How can I contain my excitement for the long three month wait???? Hey, if Porelly can last 18 months...then I think I can handle 3..hahaha. Yeah, I know it%26#39;s gonna be crazy hot/humid, but we will definitely take advantage of the pool this time around...hey, it%26#39;ll be a first, of all my visits to New Orleans, I have never used a pool. Looking forward to it, just had to share my joy with all of you NOLA fans :)
I took a trip to NOLA on Airtran last Christmas and the great thing about Airtran is that when you check in online if they have any 1st class seats free, they give you the option to upgrade pretty cheap, so I think for the whole 4 legs of the trip I paid another $135 for First Class.
dolmatt,
good job! I%26#39;ve got two months more (60 days, but who%26#39;s counting). I%26#39;ve done NoLA several times in July and it%26#39;s definitely hot, but not terrible. The pool is an excellent way to break up the day. My only complaint was that the smell on Bourbon Street is a little more pungent in the evening ;o)

Oh I know what I%26#39;m in for Kel, LOL I%26#39;ve been to New Orleans in June...and I was in my 2nd month of pregnancy...lets just say the heat and the smells were not a good thing :( but I%26#39;m not gonna let the heat and stuff discourage me, I%26#39;ll be away from home and without the kids for a few days...we%26#39;ll definitely make the best of it :) but I have told my friend, this will probably be the last summer trip to New Orleans...I definitely prefer my visits when the weather%26#39;s not so hot/humid. My fave time to visit is the end of March, early April :)
