Bachelor Party in December...advice??

I am thinking about a pre-Christmas, weekend bachelor party in NOLA and I would love some help. How%26#39;s the weather? What is popular to do in mid December? Is the French Quarter a lively place this time of year?

I have never been and I think it would be a great time as opposed to the usual Vegas or Windsor, ON.

Windsor???? I%26#39;m from Ontario, and I don%26#39;t know of many people who plan Bachelor Parties in Windsor..but I am almost a 3hr drive away, so who knows :) New Orleans is great in Dec, but it can be unpredictable. I was there the 2nd weekend of Dec and the one day was very cold (kind of what we%26#39;re used to where I%26#39;m from..and it actually snowed too..something very rare for New Orleans) and the rest of our trip was beautiful...we wore jeans and long sleeved shirts, with maybe a light sweater at night. We thought it was great...definitely a nice break from the weather we were experiencing in Canada..it was very similar to our Fall weather. The French Quarter, especially Bourbon st is very lively every weekend throughout the year. It will be busy in Dec, no worry%26#39;s.

Since it will be for a Bachelor party, I would recommend the Inn on Bourbon...a great party hotel right in the middle of the action of Bourbon st.

LOL...I dunno, maybe Windsor is just a local Chicago getaway. I%26#39;ve been to 2 bachelor parties in Windsor and a handful of other trips just for a random weekend.

The Inn on Bourbon sounds like it%26#39;s pretty popular. I%26#39;m going to do some research on it.

Thanks!

I%26#39;ve found great rates for the Inn on Bourbon on the French Quarter.com website...

Looks like the Inn On Bourbon only has Dec. 4-6 available. I%26#39;ll have to look around.

The place does look awesome, and I would love to book somewhere with a balcony over Bourbon. Or is that overated?

I%26#39;ve been to New Orleans about 6 or 7 times and I%26#39;ve never had a room with a Bourbon St balcony, and honestly, I never plan to in the future..but I%26#39;ve never done the bachelor party thing either..LOL...if you don%26#39;t get a balcony room, you could always go to one of the bars on Bourbon with a balcony and do some bead throwing...that%26#39;s a lot of fun and anyone can do it. If you do get a Bourbon st balcony room, this is definitely the right hotel for it, it is in a great central location on Bourbon...it%26#39;s a very heavily populated part of Bourbon st.

forgot to mention, the Royal Sonesta also has balcony rooms facing Bourbon st, but it may be a little pricier than the Inn.

I had a Bourbon Street balcony room last September. Honestly it%26#39;s over-rated. With a bachelor party you will spend most of your time on Bourbon street and not in the room anyway. The French Quarter is always lively, doesn%26#39;t matter what time of year it is. Go visit some of the strip clubs and save the money from an expensive hotel room. The St. Marie is pretty good and usually inexpensive. Plus it%26#39;s right off bourbon. You can get a Toulouse balcony room which is fun.

The Inn on Bourbon is my top choice, but the Hotel St Marie is definitely a close 2nd...great location and you would definitely save some $$ if you stayed there too :)

I was just out there in March for a bachelor party with some buddies from Michigan. A couple of us stayed at the Prince Conti and the rest at the St James (not on Bourbon). The Conti is right off of Bourbon and was a great location. I agree that the whole balcony thing is over rated. We saw less flashing for beads this trip then ever before. As for the bachelor party activities, you need to let us know what you guys are looking to do or what everybody is into.
