City Park?

Have you been to City Park%26#39;s Storyland and the rides? I have not been since before Katrina. It looked like everything is back to normal on their website. What is your opinion? Would a 7 year old have fun in Storyland and on the rides, or is it for younger kids?

City Park?

City Park is pretty much back to normal, or at least the ';new'; normal. The front part of the park (museum, botanical gardens, sculpture gardens, Storyland) has been restored and they are working on a great new $2 million lagoon for the entrance. The back part of the park, the golf courses, are slowly being restored.

Your 7 year old would like Storyland, I think. If nothing else he/she would like the little train that runs around the front side of the park.

City Park?

Storyland is a small area of the park with larger-than-life characters, a dragon slide, and pathways to run on...and is really more suitable for toddlers up to about Kindergarten age.

The actual rides are located in ';Carousel Gardens'; aka Amusements, and as the parent of a 7-year-old who loves going to City Park (he%26#39;s had two birthday parties there since the storm), I would highly recommend visiting Carousel Gardens and getting the ';unlimited ride wristband';. There is a small admission fee to the amusements area, and last time we visited I think we paid $12 for the wristband. You have a wide choice of rides, including the miniature train that circles the park (great way to see the park), a small rollercoaster, bumper cars (there is a height requirement), ferris wheel, tilt-a-whirl, and especially the antique Carousel. There are many other rides, from calm to fast. And the setting can%26#39;t be beat!

Thank you!

Don%26#39;t forget that the correct pronunciation is...City Pawk!

:)

Have a fantastic time!
