Big Fisherman Seafood

What are your thoughts on Big Fisherman Seafood. I plan on making that my first stop in New Orleans because I have read good reviews on it.

Has anyone been there before?

How are the prices?

I am trying to find the best crawfish place near Hilton New Orleans/St. Charles Avenue.

Big Fisherman Seafood

It%26#39;s pretty good. One of the best seafood places in the Uptown/Garden District area. But, keep in mind that it is a seafood market, so you%26#39;ll have to eat elsewhere...like the Bulldog%26#39;s patio right across the street. The prices are mid-range, and they certainly won%26#39;t rip you off like many places in the French Quarter will!

It%26#39;s not near the Hilton on St. Charles, so you%26#39;d have to cab or take a streetcar there!

Big Fisherman Seafood

so we buy the food cooked then just find a place to eat it?

Yes, that%26#39;s the case with Big Fisherman. Of course, if you go to a seafood restaurant like Deanie%26#39;s in the Quarter, then you can eat there!

ok sounds good, thanks again worldtrav. Do you know any other things like that top 20 list that you gave me for restaurants?

Deanies was pretty good. The staff was extremely nice.

Big Fisherman has good to-go seafood but doesn%26#39;t make a lot of sense for MOST visitors. It%26#39;s a hike from the downtown/Quarter area and there%26#39;s no place to dine. I think you should try Deanie%26#39;s first and then Big Fisherman IF you can%26#39;t get your crawfish fix there!

Yup, I agree. Otherwise, I%26#39;d plan for some activities/hang out time in the Uptown/Garden District area.

Just be careful - if anywhere is charging more than $3.50 per pound of crawfish, go elsewhere!

Just as a ballpark - I always check with various seafood markets before heading out. Even Rouse%26#39;s is currently charging $2.79 per pound.
