Last year my bf Suzanne and my little brother Pat and I made the trip to NO for the FQF and to celebrate my brother%26#39;s 50th birthday.
Pat has been battling liver failure for several years, and hoped to have a transplant. We had the BEST time and created such memories.
Last Wednesday Pat died in the hospital while waiting for a transplant. So this year, Suzanne and I are going back to NOLA to celebrate his life, and rekindle the wonderful memories of last year.
For those of you who will make it to Lafitte%26#39;s for the meet %26amp; greet, we will have a toast to my brother.I hope to see you there.
A bittersweet French Quarter Fest for me
Our condolences to you and your family and friends on you loss. ';A Celebration of Life'; is one of the most healing things we can do at a time like this. We hope to be at the M %26amp; G but just in case we miss it, our glass is ';lifted'; and we hope that you and yours will be.

This deserves 2 toast! :)
what a great way to celebrate his life. I know exactly what you%26#39;re going through...I just lost my dad 3 weeks ago to kidney failure..he was also waiting for a transplant. He was 53. I hope you have an amazing trip and have fond memories of being there with your brother :)
So sorry for the loss of your brother. I%26#39;m sure he would like that you are going to FQF, it actually is a great tribute. I agree about celebrating life, none of us are promised tomorrow (or even today!) So, I will also raise my glass in his honor when I get to NOLA!

We will be there the next week fot Jazzfest but will have a toast for him as well. Sorry for your loss.
May EVERY glass raised be in memory of those we%26#39;ve loved and lost. Sorry for your loss.
