restaurant.com question

Hello All! I am heading to New Orleans in the morning for a week!! I am wondering about this website restaurant.com and the discounts offered. The one for Oceanas $50.00 for 8 bucks. Sounds like a great deal but it says there is a minimum purchase of $50.00 for 2 entrees. I get that, except there are no entrees on the menu for $25.00.I know drinks aren%26#39;t includes, but how about dessert, and/or appetizers? Would that be included in the $50.00 minimum?

restaurant.com question

With restaurant.com gift certificates I%26#39;ve used in the past, the minimum you can order is two entrees, but appetizers, etc.. count towards the main total.

you%26#39;d be surprised at how quickly a couple appetizers and two entrees add up...you%26#39;ll be able to spend it with no problems. We really enjoyed the crab cakes...delicious!!

I%26#39;ve never bought these certificates because of the fact that CalKaty is mentioning. PERSONALLY, I don%26#39;t want to overeat just to save a few dollars at a restaurant I didn%26#39;t really want to visit anyway! Still, I certainly know why people buy them and I think they are a very good deal for some, but not everyone.

I may try Oceana again based on the recent reviews I%26#39;ve seen. My two previous visits weren%26#39;t very good.

California, if your worried about not spending enough, you could purchase the $25 GC instead of the $50. I used the $25 one for my husband and I, and we had to pay a little into it...The $50 one is better if you have more than two people, or plan on trying a couple appetizers.

I agree that if its the 2 of you it might be a little harder to spend the $50 but there are $25%26#39;s available as well. Things add up - I never think we will end up spending enough but we always do!

I just don%26#39;t get it with the Oceana-the two special events and one other time there the food was very substandard. It%26#39;s hard to believe they have had an Emeril%26#39;s epiphany.

I ate at Oceana on the 12th and used a $25 certificate (that I actually bought for $2) with no problem, our food bill came to just over $60 sharing the crabcakes, 2 entrees, and bread pudding for dessert. Do note, a tip of 18% is automatically added if you use the certificate, but our service was so good I tipped a little more than that.

I posted in my TR that the food was better than I expected, and the special that night, grilled tuna over a crabcake with a crawfish sauce was the best entree of our trip. Be sure to ask for a courtyard table if the weather permits. We got there around 6 and there was plenty of seating, but after 7 it was full. Not sure if they accept reservations.

At home, we use Resturant.com all the time especially for new places we have not been to. But for Oceanas Grill, we used one for our trip March 7th - 11th. $50 coupon for 4 people was a steal. The meal was the best of our trip!!! Is it commanders Palace, no but much better than the other mid market resturants people say are the best.

For that amount, I would spend my money somewhere else! I would avoid any place that offers a coupon as a rule of thumb.
