Looks like there are several areas in new orleans. Where should we get a hotel if we want to walk and explore? We want to be close to everything? Can someone describe the areas? ie French Quarter, vs Business District vs garden district?

I%26#39;d definitely recommend staying in the French Quarter or Warehouse District. Two very safe areas that are walking distance to most of the attractions!
Where to stay?
First visit to New Orleans? If so, then absolutely the French Quarter is my first choice. The Faubourg Marigny, downtown (CBD), Warehouse District or Garden District are fine for future visits but I think everyone should start with the city%26#39;s crown jewel, the FQ.
With the FQ you are close to so much or transportation opportunities to venture outward right there.
