We have several family members arriving for 3 nights to celebrate a graduation in May.
For about the same overall price (with some corp discounts), we could stay in either hotel.
I%26#39;ve been to NOLA several times but haven%26#39;t stayed in either hotel (keeping things cheap!).
I%26#39;ve read all the reviews and am confused.
If you could stay in either hotel, which would YOU choose? And if you have another better suggestion, I%26#39;m open. I%26#39;m really struggling with this decision since I%26#39;m making it for lots of people and worry about how they%26#39;ll feel!
Omni Royal or Windsor Court Hotel or another?
The Omni Royal hotel is a great choice, and one of my favorites within the French Quarter. Fantastic location and service, though rooms are on the small side.
The Windsor Court is a good hotel, and the renovated rooms are quite nice, but the hotel has lost some of its luster from times past.
Omni Royal or Windsor Court Hotel or another?
Stay at the Omni, a New Orleans classic! Great location in the Quarter and wonderful pool/cabana area on top with views of the City. You won%26#39;t be sorry!
Omni Royal is an old time classic as another poster indicated-and you have the Rib Room there also, great observation deck and pool area too. Omni by all means.
Sorry to complicate things...but I prefer the Windsor Court.
Thanks to you all. I was leaning to the Omni Royal and I heard from Tulanefan!
I like that the Omni Royal is in the heart of the quarter and I love St Louis St and the area north of Jackson Sq. BUT, the Windsor Court has always been considered so NICE.
Tulanefan, could you please tell me why you prefer the Windsor Court? Many of the reviews I%26#39;ve come across talk about how things have gone downhill there. Since, for us, this will be an exceptional expenditure for a celebration (graduation from Tulane!), I don%26#39;t want to make the wrong choice.
What particularly do you like better about it?
Also, if you have any other suggestions that you prefer even more, I%26#39;d love to hear them. Thanks again!
The Windsor Court isn%26#39;t considered the top hotel in New Orleans anymore, though it once was. The Ritz Carlton on Canal has pretty much taken the crown away. The Roosevelt hotel (formerly Fairmont) opens up soon and that should give the Ritz a run for its money.
Unless you can guarantee yourself one of the renovated rooms at the Windsor Court, I%26#39;d still go for the Omni Royal Orleans.
