I agree with United Cab. We used them during Mardi Gras to get from Metairie to the French Quarter. They were afforable and quick.

I agree with the others: United is my first choice.

For the future, you may not have the option. The airport is FINALLY doing something about shoddy cabs and cab service at MSY. Supposedly they are near a contract with one company to operate the airport cab service and these taxis will be exclusive to/from MSY. They%26#39;ll also be newer cars, clean and with knowledgeable drivers, I hope!

United absolutely. Good call on pluggin%26#39; it in your cell phone! Even on the streets when getting around, try and always get into a United cab...

Arrived in NO last Thursday afternoon. As I was picking up my luggage, I called United. They assigned me cab #, and I went to the middle island. In about 2 minutes our cab arrived. It was nice to get a little personal attention, especially when there was a huge line at the cab stand. If you%26#39;ll be arriving during the busy hours, I would highly recommend this.

what is a typical fare from the airport to the French Quarter? Just so I know I%26#39;m not getting ripped off... are they metered/or zoned?

Rates from the airport are $28 to the Central Business District/French Quarter area for up to two passengers and $12.00 (per passenger) for three or more passengers. Pick-up is on the lower level, outside the baggage claim area. There may be an additional charge for extra baggage. $1 fuel surcharge added to total fare.
