My sister and I are visiting for the first time at the end of April, and though we%26#39;re from New England, we both (GASP!!!) hate seafood. I%26#39;ve read all the posts about the delicious food in New Orleans but, unfortunately,it%26#39;s not what we like. Any suggestions for good food OTHER than seafood? I%26#39;m sure we won%26#39;t starve, and of course, there will be plenty of liquids for us!!! Thanks for the suggestions!
N.O. without seafood
You won%26#39;t starve. Roast beef poor boys are very New Orleansy. Suggest Johnny%26#39;s or Parkway. Cuchon more or less specializes in pork. Brigsten%26#39;s for duck. Lots of places for chicken. Some good steak at Delmonico etc. You%26#39;ll eat well.
N.O. without seafood
You won%26#39;t have any problems with food. N.O. has wonderful french food. Even bar food is good. Take the trolley and when you see something interesting, get off. We went by trolley into the garden district and ate at a bar The food was excellent. before we got into official garden district. Its worth the ride day or night. We also ate at a bar off Canal Street. My husband has relatives there and we sometimes sneak into town a day or so early to just all the city has to offer.
