I went on -line to buy the tickets at tickemaster and noticed that you cannot choose a date. I called tickemaster and they told me that the tickets for 35.00 were good for the whole weekend. I know that is not true. We wanted to go on Fri and Satof the 2nd week, and there are three of us. Should we just by 6 tickets. I appreciate the help.
Jazz Fest Tickets
The tickets are good for one entrance during the weekend. They actually say good for April 27, 28 or 29. For instance, we have 4 tickets for the weekend of April 27-29. My husband and I will use 2 on Saturday, April 28 and the other 2 on Sunday, April 29. You will need to buy 6 tickets. If you use the shuttle, you will need 6 more tickets for the shuttle.
Jazz Fest Tickets
Of course, you%26#39;re tickets would be good for May 4, 5 or 6. :)
I was just confused as they were not date specific.
I am amazed at how expensive Jazz Fest has become! Not so long ago, the price was in the teens. Sigh! At any rate, previous posters are correct. You can buy a ticket for one admission during either weekend. You pick the date within that particular weekend timeframe.
Great music schedule in 2007, by the way! www.nojazzfest.com
That%26#39;s why we stopped going to Jazzfest and started going to the French Quarter Fest.
We loved Jazzfest; when we first started to go in the early 80%26#39;s. We%26#39;d get tickets for both weekends, back when the Fest was 3 days one weekend and 4 days the other. At today%26#39;s prices, that would be $490 advance or $540 at the door for 2 people. I think that%26#39;s nuts.
Honestly, when you factor in the cost of a hotel (special event prices), food at the fairgrounds, water and other beverages (you can%26#39;t bring in anything, including water), taxi fare or parking, the cost is astronomical. You could spend two weeks in Paris!
Plus, the crowds began to make it almost impossible for me to enjoy the music. The farther away from a stage you are, the more %26#39;muddled%26#39; the sound. The only alternative became setting up camp somewhere and limiting the %26#39;walking around%26#39; aspect.
I sound like a stick in the mud, but I%26#39;m really not....I%26#39;ll stick to FQF.....
Since Jazzfest will not sell out, I%26#39;d suggest buying tickets at the gate to avoid Ticketmaster charges.
Are the Ticketmaster fees more than $10 per ticket (the differnece between the advanced purchase and gate price)?
I%26#39;m going everyday! Maybe because I know some really good friends in high places and I%26#39;ll only be paying 25$ a day. Anyone else who wants the same hook up I have just reply.
Ok...I will bite. What is your hook up for $25 tix? Let me know and I could be buying you many beverages at the Fest....my e-mail is balto_man@hotmail.com
Thanks.jck
Beware of buying these tickets. Even the ';group purchase'; prices are much higher than this and there%26#39;s a chance your ticket will be useless once it%26#39;s scanned at the door.
