Hello. We are coming down in September.
I have Royal sonesta booked. Is the extra money for the balcony rooms are really worth it. It is $50 more nightly for a side street balcony and $100 for bourbon. We would really enjoy the ';new orleans experience';. Thanks, and I am sure to have more questions in the coming months!
Royal Sonesta
Or is there a better place for the ';experience';? I%26#39;ve read a couple of these recent posts and no one seems to mention Royal Sonesta. May look into Place D%26#39;Arms. What do you think?
Royal Sonesta
I have stayed at Royal Sonesta but not Place d%26#39;armes. The Royal Sonesta is a very beautiful and elegant hotel...just very very nice. I haven%26#39;t stayed at Place d%26#39;armes but in my opinion, their location is the best in the French Quarter. Even though I thorougly enjoyed the Royal Sonesta, I would choose Place just on location alone.
The Royal Sonesta is one of the better hotels in the French Quarter - very classy and located right on Bourbon St. The balconies can be fun, especially if there is a festival or big event in town. However, it%26#39;s just as well to save the money and splurge on food instead!
The Place d%26#39;Armes has a great location, but it%26#39;s a way more basic (think 2-3 star) hotel, so if you%26#39;re looking for a classy, high-end hotel, then stick with the Royal Sonesta.
Thanks for the opinions. I think we will be happy at the RS, we%26#39;ll see about the balcony.
