Anyone going to Jazzfest?

We will be in town for FQF and are staying though the following weekend so we can go to the first couple days of Jazzfest!

Anyone else going to be there first weekend?

Anyone going to Jazzfest?

I%26#39;m thinking of going on Sunday the first weekend and then Friday of the following week!

Anyone going to Jazzfest?

Dave Matthews fan by any chance?

We would have loved to go Sunday, but our flight out is at 7:00, so we%26#39;d miss the big acts (and at $50 a ticket, two days is plenty!).

I can hear crawfish bread calling my name!

Bride and I will be in attendance first Friday and Saturday....7th fest for me..5th for my wife. We always meet old friends who live far away during this time so we are really excited. As far as the big national acts that play at Fest...never have seen one including DMB a few years back. The real gems of Jazzfest play on the venues that are less traveled. You can catch me at Fais Do Do or Blues Tent or Gospel Tent...maybe Congo Square. Or course, I am totally with you on crawfish bread but I will make my initial stampede to the Softshell Crab PoBoy line and have a little Crawfish Monica followup. With that fortification, my friends at the adult liquid refreshment stand will have my eternal and undying attention. We can only stay for 3 days unfortunately since we have little ones at the homestead.

Haha, I am! I remember the days when the tickets were much cheaper, but if you buy them in advance, it%26#39;s $40 compared to $50!

We will be down for the first weekend. We usually come down for the FQF but it did not work out this year.

This is our first Jazzfest - any advice????

Can%26#39;t wait!!!

The problem with buying the advance tickets are the Ticketmaster fees; by the time you pay the fees, that $40 ticket costs $51!!

But, if you are local (or in town early), you can buy tickets at the Superdome. If you pay cash, the fee is only $3 (which I don%26#39;t quite %26#39;get%26#39;, but it%26#39;s still less than $50-$51).

Plus, you can kind of wait and see what the weather will be like before committing!

By the way, I haven%26#39;t been to Jazzfest since 1995 and I think we paid $9 per ticket at the time!

We will be going the second weekend for 2 days only. (So sad!) I am ready for oysters, oysters, seafood augratin and crawfish monica. And did I say oysters?

Anyone up for a meet and greet the weekend of Jazzfest? This is my first JF, and would love to meet other travelers! Plan to go Fri and Sat. Should I get tickets in advance?

Mimi

Mimi - would love to meet.
