We want to do one of the classic restaurants while we are in New Orleans over Memorial Day weekend. We%26#39;ve already been to Arnaud%26#39;s (loved it).
Antoine%26#39;s is closed on Sunday nights, so we%26#39;d like to try either Broussard%26#39;s or Galatoires. We%26#39;re taking some friends of ours who%26#39;ve never been to New Orleans before and we want it to be nice. We tend to prefer noisy bustling environments vs. quiet formal settings.
Any thoughts or opinions?
Broussard's or Galatoires
Go to Galatoire%26#39;s for the experience, especially if bustling places are your thing. The food isn%26#39;t as good as Broussard%26#39;s in my opinion, but the atmosphere is quintessential old world New Orleans.
Broussard's or Galatoires
Galatoire%26#39;s is one place we feel we must go when we%26#39;re in New Orleans - for the experience and the food. Eat downstairs even if you have to wait a few minutes.

Galatoire%26#39;s!!!
I have not been to the other, but I really enjoyed Broussards. Sat in the courtyard, and it was LOVELY! It was so pretty, service was AMAZING! loved listening to the birds in the trees.. Food was perfect. I must admit it was not a ';bustling environment';.. it was a Peaceful, Fancy, and Romantic. Anyway, sounds like you can%26#39;t go wrong.. you have only great choices to choose from.
Keep in mind you must wear jackets at Galatoire%26#39;s.
Thanks for the input. Galatoires it is. Thanks for mentioning the jackets-required element. I%26#39;d missed that on the website.
We recently had the worst meal I have ever had at Broussard%26#39;s.
