Family Spring Break in New Orleans

Our family, including our two daughters, ages 13 and 15, will be in New Orleans the first week of April. We are thinking of staying at the Hotel Provencial (my husband and I stayed there many years ago right after we were engaged and loved it). I wanted to know what%26#39;s the neighborhood like now, is it still safe? Is this hotel okay for two teenage girls? Also, anything going on this week that might be fun for the family? Any recommendations for a nice dinner with the girls? Also we would like to go to the garden district and would like to take the trolley if possible. Can anyone help us? Thanks so much!

Yes, that part of the French Quarter is safe, though it is quieter than many of the more commercial parts of the Quarter. The hotel is fine for two teenage girls, though I wouldn%26#39;t let them wander by themselves at night, no matter where they are in the city. Use common sense and stick to the main roads, and you%26#39;ll be just fine!

For a nice dinner, I%26#39;d recommend Bayona or Mr. B%26#39;s Bistro (two awesome French Quarter restaurants).

It%26#39;s very easy to get to the Garden District/Uptown by catching the St. Charles Ave streetcar. www.norta.com/routes/route.php鈥?/a>
