Jazz Fest Shuttle

I have read there is a shuttle to/from the Fairgrounds for Jazz Fest - can someone point me in the right direction to get info on that. We are going to Festival International in Lafayette and are then heading to New Orleans for a few days. We will only be going the first day of the last weekend (Thursday) as we have to leave on Friday May 1. I see the line up for the end of the day Thursday is really good - how hard will it be to get the shuttle back to the FQ after the last show? Any help is appreciated. My husband and I have been to NO many times, but we have never been to Jazz Fest before.

Here is all you need to know about the Jazzfest shuttle....do not take it. It is overpriced and there are multitudes of ways to get to Fest. The shuttle leaves from 2 locations and drops patrons off inside of the gate of Fest so you must buy a ticket to Fest when you purchase shuttle fare. The way to go is to go early to Fest (by cab is good and cheaper than shuttle) and have a bloody mary in the neighborhood before gates open.
