New Orleans - Where to eat for Foodies?!

Hi, I will be travelling to NO in April. I am a total foodie and can%26#39;t wait to experience all the delicious goodies! I%26#39;ll be there for a whole week so I%26#39;d love to hear what the locals / experts say are their favorite joints.

P.S. - It%26#39;s all about the food. Things like atmosphere, price, kid friendly does not matter. We%26#39;ll crawl over broken glass to get there if necessary...

New Orleans - Where to eat for Foodies?!

My favorites: for upscale, New Orleans inspired food, Stella!, Bayona, and Cuvee.

For more traditional, New Orleans food, Ralph%26#39;s on the Park, Mr. B%26#39;s Bistro (for BBQ shrimp), and Commander%26#39;s Palace (jazz brunch is a must).

For more casual eateries, Crabby Jack%26#39;s or Domilise%26#39;s for po-boys, Dick and Jenny%26#39;s or Brigtsen%26#39;s for a great dinner, Casamento%26#39;s for oysters.

For crawfish/crab boil, Jaeger%26#39;s in Elmwood/Metairie.

August, Herbsaint, Cochon, Upperline...

Just to clarify, a few of the places mentioned are not in the FQ/downtown area (D%26amp;Js, Upperline).

I consider myself a foodie and recommend Stella for a full-on, five-star foodie experience. My favorite place that is a little less expensive than Stella is Herbsaint (in the CBD). I also think you should try either Galatoire%26#39;s or Antoine%26#39;s for the experience.

I%26#39;m a foodie, but that doesn%26#39;t always mean high-end.

We stopped in Coop%26#39;s Place and thought it was amazing. It is more of a dive place, right in the French Quarter. The Chicken Tchoupitoulas is amazing, especially for being a chicken dish. The place is relatively cheap, quick, and delicious.

For amazing (country) gumbo and po%26#39; boys I recommend Luizza%26#39;s By The Track, more local. Commander%26#39;s Palace you really should not miss and Bayona.

retaks: One of our favorite places in the FQ, is Muriels on the Square. Prices are reasonable, atmosphere excellent and it is casual.

Hope your visit is enjoyable and the weather cooperative.

You might want to go to www.nomenu.com. It%26#39;s written by Tom Fitzmorris who hosts a radio show all about NO food and restaurants. A frined from NO told me about it.

Sorry, I meant to spell ';friend';.

Parkway Bakery %26amp; Tavern

Domilise%26#39;s

Casamentos

Boucharie

And I don%26#39;t care what anyone says, Palace Cafe will always be a favorite of mine.

Stella...Cochon... Dick %26amp; Jenny%26#39;s... Stella, I have had a so-so experience there once, but all in all, I%26#39;ve been pretty pleased otherwise. It%26#39;s so hard to give these suggestions because everyone has their own favs, ya know!?
