24 Hours in NOLA

Hi all,

In two weeks I will be speaking at a conference in NOLA, but will have 24 hours afterwords to explore.

1. Do we need to rent a car?

2. What are the must-do%26#39;s in that time period?

My husband and I have never visited NOLA. We are 30, like good music and food, so we have already compiled a list of what to do at night. I am an art type (teach/learn/dabble in it), and love exploring new work. We have Friday from 11-7, and Saturday 11-5 to explore, what would you do?

I would suggest that you browse the forum%26#39;s past posts. These questions have been asked over and over and over.

The short answer is NO to the rental car.

24 Hours in NOLA

Hi,

I just wanted to direct you to the following websites concerning art galleries in New Orleans. I%26#39;d imagine you could find what you%26#39;re looking for here as far as art goes and exploring some of these places would be a great way to spend a long afternoon or two.

As for the good food and music, it%26#39;s hard to go wrong with any place you choose.

Ditto on not renting a car, no need.

Hope this helps.

wonderful thanks! (when I searched, some old posts showed up, and galleries can definitely change). I will use that gallery list to sort out what I am interested in.

No to the rental car unless you%26#39;re planning on spending 24 hours on tours (swamp, plantation, etc...)

Definitely spend time exploring the French Quarter. There are some neat galleries on Royal St as well as good shops for general browsing.

My only recommendation for a 24 hour trip is don%26#39;t sleep- way too much to do/see/eat/buy.

haha. i%26#39;ll try and navigate that one, although i might look a little haggard for my presentation :)

If you find yourself on Julia Street, check out the Arthur Roger Gallery. Not much to buy, affordability-wise, but the place is great!
