Can anybody tell me which is the best? Moonlight Graveyard starts at 5:30 and looks to be just cemetaries. Tour of the Undead starts at 8:30 and covers a lot of ground, but maybe no cemetaries? Has anybody done both? If so, which is the better tour?
Bloody Mary's Tours: Moonlight Grave vs Tour of the Undead
Moonlight at 5:30? That%26#39;s marketing at its best! It%26#39;s MAYBE kinda-moonlight in December only.
Unfortunately, I don%26#39;t know much about this company so can%26#39;t help compare. I think worldtraveler knows a lot about them though and maybe she%26#39;ll help!
Bloody Mary's Tours: Moonlight Grave vs Tour of the Undead
hi igettheheat,
i%26#39;ve actually done both tours back to back. and both seperately on different occasions. I really loved the Moonlight Graveyard tour, as you take the Streetcar uptown to meet mary and follow her on foot through some really interesting cemetaries. Mary grew up going to them and has some really intruiging history and backstory on the people interred there. She generally finishes up at Holt Cemetery, which is all below ground graves. It%26#39;s definitely a little creepy (you%26#39;ll see bones littered about) but nice to see that people continue to visit thier loved ones, often times bringing gifts to leave behind.
The Tour of the Undead starts in the Quarter (usually at Lafittes) and gives you a great walking history/ghost/spirit/vampire tour. I usually suggest this one for a first night activity since it can give you the lay of the land (and is also something that is interesting to relate back to as your trip goes on). To think i once thought the LaLaurie Mansion was just a gorgeous home on the corner of Royal! Never looks the same when you know the back story ;o)
hope this helps
Yup, just to echo everything that%26#39;s been said - it really does depend on what you%26#39;re looking for in a tour. I%26#39;m a fan of the Tour of the Undead because it%26#39;s a little bit of everything thrown in! But, you can%26#39;t really go wrong with her tours :)
