my husband and i are planning a trip to new orleans from april 28th to may 3rd - i did the booking and for some reason was under the impression that jazzfest was before our trip - i am incorrect obviously and know nothing about jazzfest- i searched for jazzfest threads in the forum and read them but i%26#39;m curious: how do you think this will effect our trip (is everything going to be incredibly busy? is it going to be difficult to be seated for dinner, etc) - i think i read that jazzfest is not in the french quarter so that should make things less busy there, right? - any information will be greatly appreciated. thank you!
didn't realize we were going during jazzfest
Nearly every restaurant will indeed be crowded. No way around it. However, during the day most of the visitors are at the Fairgrounds enjoying the festival and the Quarter isn%26#39;t TOO bad. It%26#39;s still crowded, though, since many visitors alternate days at the Fest with days in the Quarter.
Check it out at least one day. It%26#39;s a great festival.

How should it affect it? In a really good way...you should definitely check the Fest out a day when weather is good. But as stated, the maases will be at Fairgrounds until 7 or 8 ish and it will be crowded at night in the FQ. If you make reservations for dinner asap...you will not have any problems so do your homework. And ....have a great time.
I agree with everything already said. What a treat to find that Jazz Fest, one of the nation%26#39;s premier music festivals, is the same time that you will be here!
Make dinner reservations ASAP to make sure you%26#39;re not disappointed.
