music and motel in lafayette on a tuesday

I and my fiancee will be in Lafayette on a Tuesday night (1 day away from New Orleans). 2 questions:

1) What would be an easy, fairly cheap motel?

2). Where can we hear, and dance to, Cajun music fairly late that night.

Thank you for your input.

Every Thursday, a new schedule of music (who is playing and where) comes out in the Times of Acadiana. That%26#39;s where I get my info when we%26#39;re going out to hear music - http://www.timesofacadiana.com

Also - if you want some fairly cheap and easy motels/hotels, I really think that the Peartree Inn and Druiry Suites right off of I-10 are nice. There is also a new Motel 8 in Duson (not far, if you are coming in from the west, it would be 2 exits before Lafayette, and if you are coming from the east, then 2 exits after Lafayette), but I haven%26#39;t been there to actually check it out. It is brand new though, and seems nice - it%26#39;s pretty much in the middle of the country, so I%26#39;d think it%26#39;s decent, definitely not a bad area. Scott has a Howard Johnston, I believe - although it%26#39;s been a couple of years since I stayed there. These are all right off of I-10 and can be seen and easily reached from the exits.

Is it Motel 8, or Super 8? I think it%26#39;s Super 8 - sorry, I am dead tired! I just noticed that hotel today on my way back home from Crowley, so I am not positive on the name. I think it%26#39;s Super 8 though.

thank you for your help, gingerspince

jhard, just curious: will you be driving in from Seattle? How late were you planning on going out?

As usual, ginger%26#39;s advice is spot-on: as soon as you can find your day on the Times of Acadiana do so, as they have a very comprehensive list of events/etc. But be sure to let us know if you have any further questions.

(Too bad you will be here on a Tuesday, as the Blue Moon is my personal fav, but there isn%26#39;t any live music shows on Tues or Wed.)

Please remember to come back and let us know how your trip goes, as we would love to get your feedback/impressions!

fllw fan:

We are flying to New Orleans on the 10th. Staying overnight in Lafayette and returning to NO, staying until the 18th. I have much tenatively planned, but am still finalizing plans. Live music is a must. I will check out the Acadian site, but your input is welcome on that. And on places to eat

One thing I was thinking of was going to Vermillionville, as much for a cooking class as anything else. What is your take on that place?
