Sat Nite Frenchmen St

My husband and I will in town Saturday night and want to listen to some good music. We%26#39;re planning to go to Frenchmen St, but which club would you recommend we visit? We%26#39;re looking for jazz, blues, etc., especially local musicians.

Snug Harbour has excellent local jazz. You can also sometimes find some great local talent at dba or Apple Barrel.

I also like the Spotted Cat across the street from Snug Harbor (my all time favorite), and Dragon%26#39;s Den on Esplanade and Ray%26#39;s Boom Boom Room!

Not sure if you meant yesterday or next week at this point. I was there Saturday night so if you saw me, I hope you said hello! I second the Spotted Cat (get a Pimms Cup). And would add DBA. If your tastes are a little alt, maybe walk over to the Hi Ho Lounge...about 3 blocks.

Unfortunately, something came up at the last minute and we didn%26#39;t make it out to Frenchmen St at all. I was very disappointed! Oh well, we%26#39;ll make it on the next trip.

Sorry you did not make it to Frenchmen, we were there Thursday April 9 at Cafe Negril and heard one of our favorite local musicians, Mark Penton and the Pentones. He also does a great solo accoustic show Thursday through Monday afternoons 4-8 at the Funky Pirate on Bourbon. Seeing him is always the highlight of our trip.
