Hi guys
Finally coming back to New Orleans in Oct for a holiday (from London UK)after a few years away and I can%26#39;t wait. Going to be travelling around a bit.
I%26#39;m having difficulty in finding a direct flight from San Francisco to NO after checking a lot of sites. Anyone know of any airlines that do non-stop?
But however stops it is we%26#39;ll be there.
Cheers guys.
San Fran - New Orleans: Direct Flight
www.kayak.com covers most airlines. I don%26#39;t see any non-stops, but there are a number of 1-stop itineraries.
San Fran - New Orleans: Direct FlightI%26#39;m going via Southwest - they make one stop from SFO, OAK or SAC
I don%26#39;t think there is non-stop service from SFO to MSY.
I have been going to New Orleans from San Francisco for a few years and have not yet found a direct flight on any airline. In order not to waste a day in flight I usually take a red eye which will stop in Atlanta, Houston or Dallas and wind up in New Orleans early the next morning.
Nonstops between the SF Bay Area and New Orleans ended with Hurricane Katrina, along with our nonstops to San Diego and a few other western cities. The last ones were United%26#39;s SFO service and Southwest%26#39;s OAK service.
As others have stated, you can do a few one-stop flights that don%26#39;t involve a change of plane.
Cheers guys - thanks for the quick response.
Ok looks like a 1-stopper.
Yup, I went to college in the Bay Area, and I really miss United%26#39;s SFO service. But, I usually fly through Houston or Dallas and get layovers of less than 1 hour, which isn%26#39;t too bad of a compromise.
Unfortunately New Orleans is not a %26#39;hub city%26#39; for airlines and with cutbacks we have to deal with stops leaving here in places like Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Miami, St. Louis, Chicago...someday maybe a carrier will give us a shot. I thought Delta was at one point when they dominated the big concourse at MSY but it didn%26#39;t happen.
And this is probably true of the other airlines, but I know for sure that SFO to ATL you can get those planes with the tv screens on each seat, tv, dvd, and interactive games like trivia where you play for free against all of the other passengers who are also playing. Definitely makes the flight seem to go faster!
